Because your Tired of the BULL...

At Neuromuscular Strategies Physical Therapy in Boulder Colorado, we provide solutions to your movement challenges! I am passionate about movement and offering high quality Health Care. The clinic specializes in injury recovery and prevention of injury. Whether a client has issues with headaches, wants to ride a bike without pain, set a personal best, or return to their yoga practice, my background is well suited to helping a client meet their goals.

Clients have included office workers, construction workers, professional athletes, martial artists, ranchers, loggers, landscapers, and weekend warriors. These opportunities afforded an ability to quickly evaluate and solve a client’s injury. My own personal experience with movement is growing up in New England, playing hockey, basketball, and lacrosse. The Colorado Outward Bound School was gracious enough to provide a scholarship to a 23 day course in the Canyonlands. I fell in love with backcountry travel, hiking, mountain biking and route finding.

My Vision

To take my passion and experience and utilize it to listen to my client’s needs and then provide Physical Therapy that meets their individual needs instead of an industry or insurance standard.

Treating and observing people over 25 years, I am firmly convinced we were born for movement. Static positions such as prolonged computer use, or a repetitive dynamic action such as hours of cycling, running can contribute to overuse, poor movement patterns, which may create movement dysfunction and subsequently pain.

My Mission

In our education, our focus is on “fixing the pain” and as a result, the focus is only on the area or joints that are painful. As careers evolve we often begin to see things in a new light, and practitioners with expertise tell us “don’t treat or chase the pain.”

My physical therapy career has spanned a variety of experiences. To help you get to the place where you understand what therapy is by standards we all can measure. The way to see physical and mental improvement in our lives.

My Goal

To listen to your goals, as your goals blend with my vision to provide better care. My “treatment philosophy” has evolved from a blend of participating in a lot of different sports, teaching yoga, using movement screens, and treating clients with trigger point dry needling.

Treatments focus on the interaction of the nervous, joints and musculoskeletal systems.  The combination of the interactions of the body’s systems has helped me in my goal to provide Physical Therapy that meets your specific needs.

The day Of Happines

A Great Story Starts With Life Experience.

Along with his wife Satya Larrea, Mike obtained his certified yoga instructor certificate though the Shambhava school of yoga and is one of the lead instructors of Yoga for Healing at Shoshoni Yoga Retreat http://www.shoshoni.org/index.htm in Rollinsville Colorado. Mike and Satya developed and teach the course Yoga Movement Screen at Whole Yoga in Denver http://wholeyoga.us/teacher.html

The number one issue in our practice is back pain, neck pain, headaches, and orthopedic injuries. We treat a wide variety of patients ranging from pro athletes, to clients who would like to restore their health post injury. At Neuromuscular Strategies, our practice focuses on restoring functional movement through the use of manual therapy, trigger point dry needling TDN and movement screens. We attempt to find the origin of pain, rather than focusing on the symptoms. If the pain is in your knee, your ankle, hip, and lumbar spine could all be contributing to your symptoms.

They already Experiencing what I Experienced.

In our education our focus is on “fixing the pain” and as a result we often focus on the joint or joints that are painful. As careers evolve we often begin to see things in a new light, and practitioners with expertise tell us “dont treat the pain.” My physical therapy career has spanned a variety of experiences. My first physical therapy job was in Missoula, MT, where I worked in a local outpatient orthopedic clinic treating ranchers, loggers, firefighters, college athletes, and folks of all ages.
