When it comes to therapy, there are a lot of options out there.
You can go to a traditional therapist, a chiropractor, or even a massage therapist.
But what about physical therapy?
Why pay cash or out of pocket from insurance for Physical Therapy?
First, let’s take a look at what physical therapy is.
Physical therapy is a form of treatment that uses exercises and other activities to improve patients’ mobility and relieve pain. The therapist will design an individualized plan for each patient, depending on their needs.
In addition, to helping patients recover from injury or surgery, physical therapy can also be used to prevent future injuries.
So, if you’re looking for a way to improve your mobility and relieve pain, why not try physical therapy?
You may be surprised at how much it can help.
If you’ve ever been in an accident or had to deal with a sudden injury, you know that the road to recovery can be long and difficult.
Physical therapy is an essential part of the healing process, but it can also be expensive. Many insurance companies will only cover a portion of the cost, and some will not cover therapy at all.
As a result, many patients find themselves having to pay out of pocket for therapy sessions.
However, there are several reasons why you should pay cash or out of pocket for therapy. First, paying cash gives you more control over your therapy sessions. You can choose your therapist, schedule appointments that work for you, and receive the individualized care that you need.
Second, paying out of pocket can actually save you money in the long run. Insurance companies often have strict limits on the number of therapy sessions that they will cover, and they may not cover the full cost of each session. By paying cash, you can continue therapy for as long as you need it without having to worry about reaching your insurance limit. Finally, paying cash shows your commitment to your own recovery. Insurance companies are often more likely to provide coverage for patients who are committed to their therapy and willing to pay out of pocket.
Are you tired of a “cookie cutter” medical experience?
If you have had an injury that prevents you from doing what you value, we can help! How can we help? 27 years of clinical experience and expertise combined with the appropriate amount of treatment time, 60 minute appointments. In our clinic we often see clients for second and third opinions.
At Neuromuscular Strategies Physical Therapy in Boulder, CO we spend 50-60 minutes with our patients. We can help you recovery from your low back pain, neck pain, tennis elbow and running injuries just to name a few! Mike Kohm PT has 27 years of clinical experience and can quickly diagnose your issue and provide real solutions to returning you to the activities you love. Often spending two to three sessions focusing on your issue is very productive and can actually save you time and…
money in the long run. This is especially true if you have a high deductible plan.
Some physical therapy practitioners and clinics will accept a “fee for service” reimbursement or “capitation”. Insurance companies have cut back on physical therapy insurance reimbursement 30-50%, and there has not been a reimbursement increase for over a decade. Medicare continues to cut reimbursement as business operating expenses increase. Physical Therapy clinics that accept a capitated rate may have to reduce time spent directly with a Physical Therapist. Often a co-pay of $30.00-$60.00 is required for a 30-minute treatment. That combined with meeting your deductible, and now you are paying more for PT, than if you paid cash.
If you have a high deductible plan, $2000.00 or greater, you are essentially paying out of pocket. Why not make the choice where you want to go, not where your insurance dictates?
We work for you, not the insurance companies! Neuromuscular Strategies can verify your “out of network benefits” which allow you to be seen by a practitioner of your choice. As always we accept cash, check credit card, med pay (Auto), FSA, and HSA benefits.
We are now accepting Medicare and Medicaid at our physical therapy locations in Boulder and Denver.
Our company Neuromuscular Strategies can verify your Medicare or Medicaid benefits for you.
